📍 Based in San Diego, building a community of men doing the inner work.
He got the job, bought the house, built the family. Did everything right in the external world. And it is still falling apart, because he never went on the inner journey.
In this episode I sit down with Cathleene Cienfuegos, a tantra teacher and conscious evolution guide, to talk about why so many men are losing their marriages and their sense of self after doing everything they were told to do. We get into the instincts most men have been conditioned out of, why repressed anger and sexual energy are quietly running men's lives, the real difference between instinct and intuition, and why anger is intelligence once you know how to read it. Cathleene also leads us through a full embodiment practice live on the podcast.
Cathleene Cienfuegos is a tantra teacher and conscious evolution guide who helps people reconnect with their innate wisdom through somatic, energetic, and emotional intelligence. After unraveling her own sexual trauma through the tantric arts nearly 20 years ago, she has dedicated her work to helping men and women build a real mind body connection so they can navigate life from instinct and discernment instead of conditioning and reaction.

We have all of these intelligences that are right here in our own system, and we're constantly looking out there for the answers. Anything that your culture is telling you is in the way of your own signal.
SPEAKER_02He did everything right in the external world, but didn't go on the inner journey.
SPEAKER_00A guy has just been doing everything the culture's asked him to do.
SPEAKER_02How do we address that piece?
SPEAKER_00Repressed emotions are uh correlate with repressed energy. If we're unwilling to feel, then we can't get there.
SPEAKER_02Hey there! Welcome to another Internetge Podcast episode. My name is Soleimon Balore. I'm here with Kathleen Cienfuegos. She is a tantra teacher and a conscious evolution guide. Thanks for joining me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, thank you for asking me.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, absolutely.
SPEAKER_00I love what you've done with the place. Thank you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's been exciting to set this up. It's uh yeah. So amazing. Yeah, thank you. Yeah. So as always, we're gonna hear who she is, what she does, how she got here in her life, and then offer us a beautiful exercise. So let's jump on in. Uh, what do you do? What do you do?
SPEAKER_00Oh, I do so many things. Yeah, it's really hard to you know dial it down. Um basically, I think in a nutshell, what I do is I help people connect with their innate wisdom and trust that. And so I work somatically, I work at the cross-section of like Tantra and embodiment and evolution, conscious evolution, so that we can kind of accelerate the process of coming home to ourselves.
SPEAKER_02Oh, God, that feels so good. Yeah. Uh so tell us like in what ways uh you you have people coming to themselves.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so really what I specialize in is bringing people home to their body world, their somatic intelligence, their energetic intelligence, their emotional intelligence. We have all of these intelligences that are right here in our own system.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And we're constantly looking out there for the answers for who we are, looking for that mirror, looking for that approval. And it really is that deep self-connect that does it, that brings us where we want to be in our life. There are so many things in the way of the self-connect in our culture. So I'm simultaneously helping people reconnect while also helping them unwind the cultural conditioning and the messages of the moment and the ways those things interfere with our signals.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Give us some examples of the things that either you've gone through or people that you've come through. Like, what are the signals that are in the way that get in the way?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, anything that your culture is telling you is in the way of your own signal. Wow.
SPEAKER_03That's a lot.
SPEAKER_00It's a lot. Yeah. It's a lot. And we want to be a part of our culture.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And we have to create bonds and come together. And so we have to create a shared reality in a way to be together. But the way to do that most successfully is to not lose ourselves while we're doing it and always make that the main sort of navigating star. As we move through and try to create with our culture, our religion gets in the way, our spirituality, trauma gets in the way. So a lot of things that get away of our like just natural signals. We're not living so naturally.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Right before we turned the camera on, I was telling you that I've been doing a lot of work with instincts. Yes. Our instinctual nature, our polite society, our civilization, um, our religion, our new age spiritual.
SPEAKER_04Yep, absolutely.
SPEAKER_00Wu um pseudoscience is taking us away from our gut innate instincts. And at the very base level, yes, those are aggression, those are territorialism, those are sexuality like raw, you know, like our raw sexuality, which is wonderful. Um, but at more refined levels, there's simply powerful ways to move in life. And we have, by cutting ourselves off, I'll just say it, from the lower centers, the lower instinctual base animal body, we've lost a lot of our navigating system in the world.
SPEAKER_02And okay, so when you're, let's say, working with someone, yeah, and I want to slightly gear this towards men specifically, right? Because this is for men. Yeah, thank you for doing this. Yeah, absolutely. It's it's been a joy. When when a guy sort of like disconnects from his lower lower chakras, like what are they, or lower body, let's just say, what are the some of the symptoms that you've seen these guys have?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so I just want to say that tracking this on a global level right now, I want to make this really obvious and drill it down. Sexual repression. We have studies that show countries that have the most sexual repression have the most rape and sexual violence.
SPEAKER_02That gave me chills. Wow. Okay.
SPEAKER_00So at a at a just a dude level of like a dude that's living in our world, there's all these instincts, there's all these desires. Yeah, you know, a desire for connection, a desire for love, a desire to have a family, a desire to, you know, get it right and protect and do the things that just want to come naturally. And cutting himself off from that, now we're navigating from some other place. Now we're navigating from what the culture is telling us a man is, right? What the culture is telling us what men do or male-bodied people do. Um, I have worked with so many guys over the years who are sort of later in life going through a divorce because women are coming into their power in such a huge way. Women have all the permission to be all the things right now. We had to claim it. We've worked a long time for it. I'm not saying it's not deserved. I'm just saying that we're in that era right now. And they want to go off and build their empires, and they are getting, they're asking for a divorce, they feel unmet, they feel unseen. And a guy has just been doing everything the cultures asked him to do. Gotten the job, bought the house, made the family, did all those things right. He did everything right, and now everything's falling apart.
SPEAKER_02He did everything right in the external world, but didn't go on the inner journey.
SPEAKER_01Right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02To find himself, to discover what he actually wants. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Woo! All right. So how so how are you helping, for instance, this guy that you mentioned? Like, how are you supporting him to tap into his body, his lower chakra, so he can find, I guess, find himself, discover who he is again?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So there's a lot you can do just sitting in a chair across from someone. And we'll do a little bit of that later today.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, but I work somatically. I come straight to the body and I help him open through the blocked centers of his body. And I do that with all people. Yeah. Believe it or not, I mean, we're talking about men, but most people have a distorted relationship with power in our culture right now. I'm a tantra teacher, and so many people assume that I'm an intimacy coach and that I work with relationships and I teach people about sacred sexuality. And I do that sometimes, but that's not mainly what I do. What I mainly do is I help people become empowered to live the life that they want to live, because that's been my tantric journey.
SPEAKER_02Okay. So you uh so before we get to you, so what is having them find their own sense of self through power, their power through actually feeling it in their body. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Through creating a mind-body connection. Proprioception is our sixth sense. Okay. And so I am a I am a great dot connector.
SPEAKER_03I really am. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I can translate a lot of what's happening in the big picture and make it really relatable and then connect that to what's happening in the body so that there's a really good understanding between, oh, I'm thinking this, this is happening, or I have this belief and it's showing up in my body and doing this to my energy.
unknownOh wow.
SPEAKER_00So I've been working for years to connect those dots within myself. And now that's what I help people do as well.
SPEAKER_02That is so I think most of the the group, most of the time when I'm in my men's group, that's one of the biggest things we talk about. It's like, yeah, I I have this idea or this perspective or this thought, and I'm like, great, tune into your body, and they're like, I don't feel anything. I don't know what you're talking about. Yeah. So I love that you're able to connect the dots for for any of us, yeah, especially men who just don't have a mind-body connection. Yeah, and they're so disconnected from it. So I love that. That's amazing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, thank you. I love my job. I love what I do in the world.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's so amazing. That that's that's gotta be so uh gratifying that you love it instead of it being like this is what you have to do to survive or live.
SPEAKER_00Oh, absolutely. No, absolutely. It's very exciting.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so yeah. Uh let's dive in a little bit about like how did you get here? What has been your journey to be able to offer this to people?
SPEAKER_00Um following breadcrumbs, like honestly. Um following breadcrumbs to have gotten to sort of the Tantra spiritual community to that work. When I found out about the Tantra community in San Diego, I it was at the same time that I was unraveling a sexual trauma that I had gone through. And I started moving in this community and meeting people who were doing healing work in the healing arts from a tantric perspective. And I knew that that is something that I needed to check out because regular therapy was not cutting it. And I'm just the weirdo, empathic, sensitive kid who's always been like, what you guys are doing over there, I'm not doing that because I don't get it. And um, and that's real. Kids who grow up sensitive, empathic, with any kind of way of being different, neurodivergent, anything like that. Um, they grow up quite in a world that nobody else recognizes, or almost like they're in another dimension. And I felt like that pretty much my whole life. And so I was literally just looking for clues all the time. Um, but I had a sexual trauma when I was 16, and it didn't start really showing up in my relationships until I was about 40.
SPEAKER_04Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And so I started doing and I started receiving these healing arts, the somatic-based, energy-based, emotional-based. Um, and you know, there's theory and we call it the view. Like there's a view that you're looking from with any perspective. It's a perspective, it's a tantric perspective on life, which is non-dual, which is being in your body is what we're here to be. There's just some basic things. Yeah, I was not in my body at all.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_00No, I I uh have been very academic in my life, and uh, I really created this ivory tower, this conceptual world that I was living in, and I could conceptualize circles around anybody, but when I walked into a room, I felt like no one could hear me. I felt like invisible, like I wasn't even present or in my body. Yeah. And so that's when my embodiment journey began.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00That was about 20 years ago.
SPEAKER_0220 years ago, amazing. And then so what are some of the things that you studied? Yeah. And then why all of a sudden, what led you to then be like, okay, I want to teach this or like want to offer this?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. You know, I've always been a teacher. I've always been on a teacher's path. I started working on a teaching credential in the San Diego School District twice. Okay. So I've always had that. Yeah. Um, my first foray into teaching um was actually when my art path and my spiritual path collided, and I started teaching mandal and sacred geometry. I was painting. So I was teaching those arts and I was teaching that philosophy. Um, and when I started on this embodiment journey, I very quickly became, you know, it's just one of those sort of pulling the thread or following the breadcrumbs. Opportunities began arriving for me to show people some things.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00And I was, I was doing my main spiritual practice at that early days of my embodiment was dance, was five rhythms. You know, I was doing five rhythms, and then our five rhythms teacher moved away, and I didn't want to shut down. So I just would show up and open the door and put on music and like start guiding people into dance. I'm not a five rhythms teacher, I'm not certified, but in my own way, bringing people to their bodies that way. And as I got more teachings, I started, those started peeking through the embodiment work I was doing. I did chakra dance, like I did like a whole dance based on the chakras, and it just built from there. Um, I finally, this is a universe thing. This is a some people call it like a God thing. I got fired from the crappy job that I hated. I was waiting tables for 17 years.
SPEAKER_03Wow.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. While I was learning all this tantra, while I was healing my own sexual world and while I was on my embodiment journey. And um back then, you know, you could get unemployment for up to 18 months. And it was the 11th hour. It was the 11th hour on unemployment, and I knew I could not go back to doing what I was doing before, that I had to somehow make it work. And somebody from the community said, Look, from from where you are, from everything you've learned, all the teachings you've gotten, I can show you how to do one-on-one sessions with people.
SPEAKER_03Wow.
SPEAKER_00And someone just it was grace. I actually paid them a lot of money to do that. Yeah, I was paying out of my session work for a long time, paying them back. Um, but but I got it. And I don't even do sessions the way that person does sessions. Um, for me, there was a lot to unlearn there. But um, you know, we we joke and say Tantra's the path of unlearning, you know, everything you think you know, because it's not what you know.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_00It's like there's so much more intelligence than what we know. Yeah. And yeah, it just took off. I started working with men exclusively. I did that for about six or seven years. And then the me too movement hit big time. And suddenly women were putting their hands up. I'm ready, I'm ready for healing, I'm putting my hand up, I'm saying me too. My whole practice switched to supporting women. And by that time, I was training practitioners to do the work that I do, working with men.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And there was a lot of men that were coming through that really wanted to work with women. And it was just a time that was so like, dude, you have to go work with men. You have to go. Every that was when I was really telling all my male friends in the Tonkart community, like, you have to, you have to start men's women are gathering on en masse, and we're doing our healing work on our own over here. Um, and I would say few, a few of us did that. A few of the men in our community. Yeah, you're now holding a men's group. So it's just um, you know how important it is for men to gather, and it's important for women to gather. I think we're at a time, and I'm at a time in my own practice where men have come back in, women have come back in. I work with all genders because we're all struggling with power, we're all struggling with having lost that natural state of understanding like the entire system of our body. And you know, it's it's like when we were younger, we were running on all cylinders. We didn't have the understanding or the knowing, because we didn't have that level of consciousness yet. Yeah, but we were all instincts, you know, when we were young humans, and it was fun, yeah, and it was amazing. And uh, I would really like to get back to a day or not get back to a day. Actually, what we want is for that raw creative power and that raw sexual energy, we'll just call it second chakra permission, right? To refine through the system so that it informs the decisions we're making, so that it informs our ability to set boundaries or to be assertive, to give that no, to say what we want, to create what we want in the world without worrying too much about what the culture is trying to force down our throats all the time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So when it comes to specifically for men, yeah, right. So then because in our culture, there's this, there's this whole thing about men, yeah, you're just uh you know, your head's in, you're you're being directed by your penis. You're going, you know, you're going with your second head. Like, so how do we address that piece? For so long, guys have been said, like, stop working with your, you know, with your second head, like focus on your heart or whatever that is. So, how do we how do we address that piece?
SPEAKER_00Well, it's interesting that you said that you know, you're supposed to jump from your sex to your heart. You're you're completely bypassing your power center when you do that. You're completely bypassing that gut level belly instinct that allows us, it's also where our sense of self is.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_00That's where our sense of self is. So if we're bypassing that in any way, we're already like off the mark. And I haven't I haven't heard anyone come in and say, any men come in and say, like, I've been accused of thinking with my penis too much. What I hear mostly is that I don't know how to get in. I don't know how to move this energy anymore. I don't know what to do with this energy. They're carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders, they're carrying the weight of the patriarchy. You guys are damned if you do, damned if you don't.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_00And there's just heartbreak. Yeah. There's just heartbreak happening. So those are the guys that I mainly like attract in. Really sensitive, empathic, you know, men who just need a place to feel like all the way through something. Um, if you're being told that you're thinking with your penis instead of your head, like check the source.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_00Check the source. Who's saying that?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Who's saying that to you? And do you respect them? Do you believe them? Do you trust them? Are you interested in what they mean by that? Can they elaborate? Are they just peeling off a platitude or some cliche because they don't know what to do in the situation? Right. You know?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. There's a lot of uh what maybe what they're going through, right? It's all about maybe it's all about them and not really what I'm going through.
SPEAKER_00It's the lens that they could be looking through as well.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, absolutely.
SPEAKER_00You know, and just an inability to communicate with each other about what's real. Like, what am I feeling and what am I needing? Those are very true simple.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_00What am I feeling and what am I needing? Yeah. You know, I don't know.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And and it's okay to say I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Ooh. That's a that's another big one. It's okay not to know. It's okay not to know.
SPEAKER_00But you have to say that. You have to have the courage to say that. Of like, of just let's slow way down.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Like what you're saying to me is pretty harsh.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00And that's landing so with so much difficulty. I'm having difficulty hearing that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Could we unpack that a little bit? Do you have the bandwidth? Why are you saying that to me? Why do you think that's true?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So you're you're basically alluding to. The idea of like two people needing to, we need to communicate with each other in different in in some ways in a different way, being more vulnerable with each other, being more understanding with each other, being more like, let's let's define what you're talking about. Cause that doesn't land right with me. Like, yes, I might be excited, I might be aroused, but it doesn't necessarily mean that I want to have sex with you in this moment, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So so many women have had the opposite experience that your arousal means that now I have a job to do.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_00That this is my responsibility now, that this is what we're growing out of.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00This is this is where we're coming from. And there's trauma on board there. So if you're if you're doing some kind of dance with somebody who is in that space, it's probably best not to be doing a dance with somebody in that space unless they're willing to like unpack the layers of that, you know, with you. If they have the ability to communicate, think and feel at the same time.
SPEAKER_02That that requires a lot of practice and skills. It's everything. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Because we get so caught up in the emotional content that we're overwhelmed or we're completely disconnected from it and we're just in theory and concept now.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. What would you recommend if there are men who want to experience what you're stating about being in the you said feeling and in the uh sort of context, like being in their logic mind at the same time, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02How do you recommend men sort of work with that so they can weave it in their life?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's a great question. It's a great question. And it it depends on the man. It depends on what he's working with, what material he's working with. Generally, you want to start opening yourself up to feeling experiences in a way that allows you to stay conscious with it and to stay present with it. So if it's confronting it all, you just want to take very small doses of it, right? If it's gorgeous and beautiful, it's so hard not to get intoxicated and drunk and lost. But there's a way to come back home and have a conscious um, you know, review it consciously. Right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And if you're doing this within relationship, in a romantic relationship, I don't recommend getting very lost very often. Or if you have an intoxicating night, then come home to yourself and start running your own chemistry again. You can do that. You can raise your own endorphins, you can get your own oxytocin going, you can get your own chemistry going so that you can come back to yourself in a way if you if you lose yourself.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You know.
SPEAKER_02I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I think everyone's like, how? How how how how? Yeah. So I think it this is one of those things that you're sharing that is it's you you learn it a piece, like either from a practitioner or from Kathleen, and then you practice. You practice.
SPEAKER_00It's true. Yeah. It's true. You, you know, there are so many, um, there's so many just like micro practices that you can have during the day to bring yourself back to embodied awareness. Okay. So you can tap on your body. You can tap on your body, embodied awareness. One of the things that I use with people who have a lot of trauma coming to their body is called the beauty breath. And that's when you find something beautiful, whether it's visually beautiful or a memory that's beautiful, stop, hold that beauty and take three breaths with it. And let the beauty penetrate you. Let the beauty penetrate you. Men aren't supposed to be penetrated. They're not, they're not so they're that's the line, right? That they can't let anything in too deeply. They can't let things in. There's so much beauty to be had. There's so much pleasure to be had. But if we don't let it all the way in, it's not going to mature into deep joy or catapult us into bliss if we're just holding it right here. And if we're told we're wrong for feeling pleasure, if we're told we're wrong for being in our arousal, if we're told we're wrong for all those things, if we're unwilling to feel, yeah, then we can't get there.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_00Then we can't get there. So if you are terrified of feeling, I would definitely get with a practitioner who can hold you while you unravel some stuff.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Because it's probably not going to feel super comfortable. It's going to feel weird in the beginning to start dropping the shield and the protection and the guardedness.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00If you if you are in a place of like, I get it, I've had the experience of feeling so deeply or opening, like I know what it feels like to have my heart open, and I know what it feels like to be moving sexually. Um, but I still slip up into my head and I go to that head space all the time. It's just habits. It's just it's just a habit at this point. It's not a deep trauma. It's not like, you know, it's, but you can do things. When I started my embodiment journey, um, one of the tricks that I used was probably a hundred times a day. I asked myself if I was standing where my feet are. It's as simple as that. Am I standing where my feet are? It instantly references the body and the ground.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So it pulls you to the deepest, the the deepest part of your body. It pulls you all. If you have awareness at your feet, yeah, then you're probably pretty down in your body.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Feet, legs, hips.
SPEAKER_02Those three.
SPEAKER_00Those three things. Belly, feet, legs, hips. So that's a weird practice. Like that's like a super weird practice. But I've discovered that it's quite effective. Standing it, doing dishes, sitting at the computer. Can I feel my feet? Just awareness at my feet.
SPEAKER_02It's so easy. It's simple.
SPEAKER_00It's really, it's too simple.
SPEAKER_02Too simple. It just requires uh awareness. Yes. And being like, okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Constantly going back to the feet. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Constantly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. How's my belly? Can I feel my belly? Can I feel my heart? Like, really, just body parts. Yeah. Like come to the body.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You want body awareness, you want embodiment. You gotta come to the body. You gotta be like, how do I do it? You just bring your awareness to your body. Many, many, many tantric meditations include movement or embodiment of some kind, because that really is the key. And I've never understood why so many people don't get that in order to still your mind, if you want your mind to still, you just come to your body.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_00And the mind, when you do that long enough, and you really put the intelligence system of the body in 51% control, the mind becomes a servant of that. That is possible. It is possible that the mind is suddenly like, wow, I know where to get the good intelligence. Like the good intel is in the body.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And so that can become the very first thing you go to when you're making any decision or having any experience. Your gut instinct, it's that instinct of when you walk into a room, I'm going that way, not that way. My Tantor teacher told me that if I don't know which direction to go, ask my feet.
SPEAKER_04Oh, really? Okay.
SPEAKER_00Yes. So this is real. I just want to say like this is real. It's real. And it it could be just a matter of like you're sitting at your desk and you've got 10 minutes in between calls, and you just place your hands on your body somewhere and take a few breaths. This is my body. My I'm like, am I can I feel my feet? Am I standing where my feet are?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And it's too simple.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00For some of us to um you have to to to to get a simple practice like this, you have to surrender a lot of trying to figure it out.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_00You have to surrender that piece.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. We're never gonna figure it out from the place you're trying to figure it out from.
SPEAKER_00The higher brain, the neocortex is the only part of our body that thinks it's the smartest one. That's a little suspect.
SPEAKER_03Totally.
SPEAKER_00And it's really brilliant. Like we need our upper centers, we want our spiritual connection, but everyone's doing the divine from the heart chakra up.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00We want our higher brain, we want to have computers and we want to go to the moon and want to explore space. Like that's what's happening all in those upper centers.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, but they often override our instinct and they override what's happening in other parts of the brain and the body. Like overworking, like over, not getting up to go eat, overthinking, over stressing, over-scrolling, over chess piece maneuvering our life.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Plan, plan, plan, plan, plan. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Strategize, analyze, synthesize. The brain is great at all of that stuff.
SPEAKER_02And there's a there's a there's a time and place for it. Uh, I think what you're alluding to is the idea behind past, present, and future. Like if you're too much in your past, too much in your future, like what's the point? Like, why are you not like enjoying the process of life?
SPEAKER_00Right, right. If you want more powerful presence in the world, you have to be in your body. Your body is the only part of you that's right here right now. The mind travels, the energy travels, the emotions travel. The emotions are really a system in the body, but your physicality is always right here right now. Yeah. To become present, you have to be in your body. That's the only part of you that's actually right here right now.
SPEAKER_02So you mentioned if it's uh a challenging feeling, yeah. Right? To like, you know, just dip in it, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So for instance, for me, when I first started to feel anger, uh, it was a lot.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Right.
SPEAKER_02Because I hadn't allowed myself to touch it. And so it seemed very like, oh my God, if I touch this, I'm gonna yell and scream and explode, and I'm gonna harm everyone and everything. So, how would you suggest a man who, you know, whether it's fear, shame, guilt, all those sort of challenging ones, like how can he allow himself to like just tap it just a little bit?
SPEAKER_00I think this is really uh where men's groups come in really, really handy. Go with your bros and go do that stuff. Go get caveman, go do emotional release, go to the batting cages, go um on a hike and scream into the void. I mean, I don't know about you. I I scream in my car a lot. Like one of the ways that I you know, I um I deal with that. Um emotional release work is powerful, and you have to be in a place where you feel safe to do it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So that's why I say your men's circle is probably a great place. Um if you're if you if you guys haven't done some emotional release, like some like push hands, you know, something is a really is a really good way to do it. Um, being with someone safe.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Uh where I found my anger was on the dance floor. Okay. And I used to dance on Monday nights at this place, and all the lights were really dim. And so no one could really see you, and the music was really loud, so no one could really hear me. And when I got fired from that crappy job that I hated, yeah, it was that night I went to dance, and uh it all just came bubbling up, and I just was making movements in my body, and I just let my body show me how to move the energy because your body knows how to do this. The repression, the rigidity, the tight boxes that we're trying to fit in. Um we've lost our ability to move our energy and to um to that intelligence system where the body knows how to already deal with this. So in the dance floor, I'm just like hurling fireballs like at the floor and just stomping around. Um, and it felt so good. It felt so good. Like, no one tells you that all this repressed stuff that isn't good for us feels so good to do. Yeah, like I love, I have a very different relationship with my anger now. Yeah, I'm not in this lofty spiritual place where I think I'm not supposed to get angry. And it wasn't just that one night, and it it wasn't every Monday night, but it was a lot of Monday nights for maybe four or five months of moving that anger on the dance floor. And now when I get angry, it's because something that's right now is happening. Yeah, it's not all the anger that I stuffed in the closet that I'm trying to get that one piece of anger out to express it, and all the anger comes out.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_00It's not the tennis ball in the closet full of tennis balls, right? Right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, totally.
SPEAKER_00It's just I know what this is. Anger usually means our boundaries are being crossed.
SPEAKER_02Right. So And the way that you express the anger now is it's still it still has power. It's it's what you're what you're saying is that it's no longer this whole baggage, like you said, the tennis falls and like all the stories of the past. It's like in this moment, I'm feeling anger.
SPEAKER_00Yes, and now I can use that as intelligence. I've just gotten intel that somewhere my boundaries are being crossed. Yeah, it is possible that I am crossing my own boundaries.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But now I can stop and look around and go, okay, what's actually happening here?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02That's what you're talking about when someone has their power.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_02It's you are being discerning now.
SPEAKER_00Yes, it's all discerning.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god, amazing.
SPEAKER_00It's all discerning, it becomes it becomes less reactive and more discerning.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So coming back to the power piece, it's like helping people, yeah, just have a right relationship with power. And having a really finely tuned instrument that can pick up information from its own, from itself, from its own system, from its own guidance system.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And that's what you're referring to as instincts. I am, yes. So powerful. Yeah. Instincts. Well, uh, I guess just to clarify for myself, yeah. I don't know if they're asking, but I'm I'm asking. What's the difference for you for instincts and intuition? Are they one and the same?
SPEAKER_00Instinct is older.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00It's from an older part of the brain and an older part of the body. It's in the root system, it's in our adrenal glands, it's in our sex hormones. And to a certain degree, in that third chakra, um, I think it's pancreas. I'm sorry. Or spleen. Maybe it's spleen. I don't know. Um, but these are old systems in the body that tell us when to fight, flight or free systems, fight, flight. So this is our, these are our survival instincts. When I say instinct, I'm talking about um territorialism, get off my rock, this is my rock, get back to the rock. Talking about aggression, like the way we protect ourselves from aggression. Um, there's hunger is an instinct, our sexuality is an instinct. Um, there's lots of instinct, but those are like the base, the base ones that are, that are unacceptable.
SPEAKER_02I always, for some reason, correct me if I'm wrong, I don't know why, but I always assume that my instincts are they run on their own and I really have no control over them.
SPEAKER_00It's true.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Okay.
SPEAKER_00It's true.
SPEAKER_02So then how would you how would you go about if we're being if we're trying to be discerning when my emotion comes up and my instinct fires off, how do we work with that?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so um this is a great question because so often our instinctual nature fires up in response to ego death instead of actual physical threat.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_00Right? It fires up when we feel threatened, but nowadays in modern society, it's not our physical body, usually, that still happens in a lot of world. Yeah, people's physical bodies aren't safe, but it can also happen when we feel the we feel like we're gonna be unsafe, or we feel that our identity has been threatened somehow, right? And so that's where the discernment comes in. Like, am I physically safe? Okay, then let me check my sense of self.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Is my sense of self on the line here? Am I getting vicious because I think um, you know, you're gonna, yeah, you're attacking who I am.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That you're attacking who I am, right? Yeah. And so in that case, usually we can slow down enough and go, okay, I'm actually safe right now.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Why do I feel unsafe?
SPEAKER_03Why do I feel unsafe?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you know, I do a lot of retreats, I do a lot of retreats in the world, and there's so much being talked about in creating safe containers, which is it's an impossible task. Because being safe and feeling safe feel the same, you know, they're two different things.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I can tell you that you're safe when you come into a circle that I'm holding. I can't tell you you're gonna feel safe the whole time because you may be confronted by ideas that go against your paradigms and your current system, operating system, or your current ideas of who you are.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And that's gonna be, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And we do our best to be inclusive, to understand diversity, to understand. There's a bunch of things we're looking at right now to be as inclusive as possible and as trauma-informed as possible.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00If I were to tell my tantra teacher that I was creating a totally safe container, he would just laugh at me. It's just you are risking, you're risking everything you thought you you think you know when you go into a transformational container. It's not, it's not safe feeling all the time.
SPEAKER_02And and uh one person's safety definition is very different than another person's safety definition. So, how can I make a space safe for every single person when I don't actually know what it means to every single person? Exactly.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. So I think it's important we're talking about safety. I think it's important we're learning what people think and feel is safe, what people need to show up so that they can open themselves authentically and express themselves authentically. Super, super important. Um, but ultimately I can't, I can't keep you safe. Right. Especially from yourself. Or from you know, totally often the call is coming from inside the house, you know.
SPEAKER_02Right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, um, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Man, I've noticed uh I've been taking deep breaths. Great, and I'm like, this is amazing. Like my nervous system feels so good hearing this stuff. I'm like, Yes, yes, talking about stuff that can transform and help men. Beautiful.
SPEAKER_00One of the biggest things that creates safety is knowing that all of me is welcome here. Even my nasty instincts, my terrible sexual energy, um, my gut level. My root chakra sense of belonging and deservingness to be here to exist.
SPEAKER_02To exist. Man. I mean, that in and of itself, like a deserving piece of like I deserve to exist. That's a lot. That's a lot.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but it also creates such a deep, wide base for all of us to sit on. Yeah. For all of us to be here.
SPEAKER_02Right? Every single one of us. Yeah. It's exhilarating.
SPEAKER_00And now life is exciting. Now what are we going to create? Exactly. What are we going to do now? Now we're sitting on the edge of the moment, present for what's about to emerge right before our eyes that we've never seen before. Not those old thoughts that are spinning, but something brand new that can arrive that we can all bear witness to and be part of.
SPEAKER_02Hell yeah. I love it. It's the edge. It is the edge. It's the edge. The edge.
SPEAKER_00It's the inner edge and it's the outer edge.
SPEAKER_02Right? That's one of the reasons.
SPEAKER_00I love the name of your gig.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's that's why I called it inner edge, because it's like an inner journey. And what's what's about to happen? I don't know. I'm on the edge. I'm on the edge. Exactly. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. The edgiest thing you can be is vulnerable. Oh, yeah. That's the edgiest thing you can be. Absolutely. Is to say, I don't know what's gonna happen. I have no idea. But I'm here, all of me firing on all cylinders. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And you uh the whole thing about I don't know brought a thing, uh, a memory. When I I was in uh a men's group, uh, this was probably 15, 20 years ago when I first started in the men's men's work stuff. Um, and I was in a group circle, and one of the the men, uh, he was the coach. And one of the things that he didn't want to hear men say is I don't know. Every time a guy, or I would say, I don't, well, I don't know. He'd be like, Well, if you did know, what would it be? And I'm like, I don't know, right? And so for me these days, I've gotten to a place where I'm like, I don't know. And that's okay.
SPEAKER_00I'm taking a deep breath at what it does.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I I I think the the sort of clarification that I want men to know out there is I don't know doesn't mean you're not gonna find out. Right? In this moment, you don't know, but you're you're you have the power, you have the capability to go discover what it is through experience. I think that's the key that I that I think that I hear when a lot of men don't want to say I don't know, is that well, if I don't know, that means how am I gonna figure it out? How am I gonna find out?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, you will, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And and in the older part of the system, it means I'm not gonna survive if I don't know.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, that is I'm useless to the tribe. Right. That's true, yes.
SPEAKER_00I'm not worthy, I'm not lovable, and I'm and I'm I might get kicked out.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_02So there is a there is a truth to that back in the days. If I don't know like how to hunt, if I don't know how to, yeah, there's there's some level of truth to that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I think that you know, I don't really study so like older civilizations so much, but there is a way of being with mystery and magic that's also very old, of being with um something that that's bigger than us.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00And in those older civilizations, we would put spirit gods and names to things, and nature was power, you know, everything was uh was a god or goddess outside of us, and and it had all the power, and it wasn't part of us, it wasn't part of who we are, but there was still some attunement to something bigger than us that was intelligent as well. Yeah, and so for me, that's a big part of my teaching and the way I work with people is to what is your relationship to that? What is your relationship to source? Call it whatever you want. What is your relationship to nature? Yeah, in the biggest sense of the word, like how far out can we, how far, how far out can we step back in terms of intelligence all the way? Like it just keeps going, you know?
SPEAKER_02It does.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So we have a relationship to like when things get so bald up and micro, it's so good to have a more expansive view of things that we can rest back in and trust and put our trust in. That's also a good way to be able to not know to be like, I'm just in the listening of it right now. Like you said, it's gonna reveal. It's going to reveal. It is because it's an intelligent system that just asked a question, right? And an answer will will arrive.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00And it's that kind of trust in the mystery, that kind of trust in something that we can only experience and not really know.
SPEAKER_02Which is again back to the idea of like it's a practice to be okay with again, the not knowing and trusting that something will reveal itself.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Ooh. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And you only need to practice trust. I don't want to say that. I don't want to get myself in trouble because then I'm going to have to practice trust. But what I want to say is you only need faith until you have proof.
SPEAKER_02Ooh, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Then it gets, and then you're like, I know I can rest back, and all will be revealed. That there is a solution coming down the line because that's what's needed right now. And the universe is a homeostatic, like self-healing intelligence system. Yeah. Whatever your definition of source is. Like, I don't, I know we all have that, and we all have to have our own relationship to that.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00But I think there is a way to I know that the people coming sitting in front of me have a spiritual life.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00That's that's part of, I know. If they're coming.
SPEAKER_02If they found you, then yeah. Yeah, if they found me, right. Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_00They have some kind of spiritual life on board. Yeah. So something that they're working with. And um moving into trusting that.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Uh when I started creating this whole inner edge, you know, men's coaching business, I had done a lot of other project projects in the past. And this was the first project that I said, I don't want to rush it. And I'm gonna trust the process. I'm gonna say the first year was really hard. I kept saying, Am I going, is this right? Is this is this is this gonna go anywhere? Am I doing good? And thank God for my housemate Jenica, Jenica Mills, who will uh she's gonna be on the podcast. Um, she kept saying, like, it's okay, I've been there. It's fine, keep going. Like, you got this, keep going. So I just needed to, you know, I needed to trust myself and trust the process. So I think for you guys out there, it may not be it, it may take some time to get to a point where you'll be like, okay, I've done it long enough where I I'm not sure, but I'm trusting each step. Like that that each step is revealing itself.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I love that you're working so close to the concrete nature of like what does this actually look like? Because I'm out here going, was it fun? Were you enjoying yourself? Actually, yes. Was it exhilarating? That's a good point. Was it like magnetizing you forward into your next moment to, you know, to have a surprise? Like, did you love it?
SPEAKER_02I love that. So I would say it was both.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02Right. I think there was that. There was moments where I was like, this is so cool. I'm not rushing. Like, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not needing to get anywhere. That was the beautiful part where I was just like, okay, this is what's showing up. And then at the same time, there were moments where I'm like, it's so slow. Nothing's happening. I felt uh bored. There wasn't enough going on. But I think that piece of there's not going enough going on, I think that had to do with how I was used to the past, where I was either scrolling social media or doing something quickly so I could fill my time and space.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So I think that's the key of like if something naturally, if you allow something naturally, there's a pace to it that's not necessarily fast, that takes time. Yeah. And it may, it may eventually get to a place where you are, there's a lot going on that you might have to place your attention on, but things that happen naturally, they take time.
SPEAKER_01It's true.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's true.
SPEAKER_02I mean, look at nature. I know. It takes a long time.
SPEAKER_00It's a really good analogy, nature. Yeah. Is that it is moving.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Things are being done at micro levels to make macro things occur and happen. I love that. I think the whole world needs to slow down a little bit. The pace right now outside my own doorstep is daunting sometimes.
SPEAKER_03It is.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I I um, you know, I we all get into places where we agree and things have to get done, and they have to get done yesterday. And like that's part of life too, and that can be exhilarating, but there needs to be a balance.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, absolutely.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. If if if you've gone six months on a like fast paced, like every day, something's gotta happen. Please take a day.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Take a breath and don't do anything.
SPEAKER_00Like I learned a beautiful teaching, a Taoist teaching from my Awakened His Love mentor, who's the founder of Awakened His Love, James Stevenson. Um and he did a teaching recently about the physiology of the young having to come back to the yin before it burns itself out. The young must return to the yin. And the Taoists have such a great system, and they have that yin-yang symbol where there's a little piece of each in the other.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, but that that wave must return back to the ocean, or it's gonna dry up.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And so we all have that system within us. Much of energy work and emotional work, it feels like being more feminine. It feels like being more yin.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And if you were called sissy enough when you were growing up, coming back to the yin, or in tantric terms, shakti, yeah, coming back to your energy, your energy, your flowing nature is gonna be awkward or hard, or you're you're gonna be afraid that you're gonna be judged for it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's so true. Yeah, so true.
SPEAKER_00You know, but just having a tear, having a cry, yeah, you know, all these things are part of what brings us back to nature, to our natural instincts, is allowing the body to do those things, like cry and feel and emote and be in the mystery. I don't know. And they're resting back.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_00In the resting back. I also heard another great thing just last year from someone who said you don't always have to be a somebody. Just be a nobody until you have to get up and be a somebody. It's the same concept. Yeah, you don't always have to be a somebody, you already are a somebody. You don't have to keep proving your value, showing up, you know, you don't have to keep vying for space.
SPEAKER_02Right. Wow.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02You don't have to keep vying for space. Right.
SPEAKER_00Is that instinct to take up space naturally? That's your territory.
SPEAKER_02And sometimes it might be bigger and sometimes it might be smaller.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely.
SPEAKER_02Honoring the moment again, just coming back. Again, we're coming back to the idea of like what's in the moment. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. Wow, this has been so good. I can feel my nervous system is so calm with you. Thank you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I've done my job. Yes, you have.
SPEAKER_02I yeah, why don't we start transitioning to the exercise? Okay. Um why don't you go ahead and tell us yeah, an overview of what the exercise is.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. This is a perfect transition because literally the exercise is to not do anything and to rest back in your power. I call it resting back in your power. And I teach men how to do this. It's very subtle. There's a part of me that um wonders if it's gonna work in the podcast. But we're gonna we're gonna try. We're gonna put it out there and we're gonna try it. Um I know that when I have a chance to come to your community, we can do something different, or we can do this live, and it might feel um or we can scrap it and just record something else and just doesn't really.
SPEAKER_02Right. It's all an experiment. That's what I love.
SPEAKER_00Um, so basically, I want I want the men who are listening to this to find a chair to sit in that's comfortable, but so that you're still in an upright position. Because what we're gonna really be exploring is your vertical relationship to life, which is really between your crown and your root. So there's a central column of energy that the crown connects us to the upper realms and the root connects us to the lower realms.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Okay, does that make sense? So if you're into yoga or doing any kind of that, you know that there's like this central column, our chakras are aligned on that column. And to give you an experience of what it feels like to not repress the natural flow of that energy. Because what the first thing you do when you walk outside of your door at the beginning of your day is you start tamping all of this down. You hide it, you put it away, you lock it up. There's no sexual energy, there's no root chakra, there's no like ass or cock. Can I say those things? There's like no, there's there's none of that is allowed. And so that just goes, and it just kind of goes dead.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00And now you're only operating from up here. And I want to give you an opportunity to sit in a chair and relax through those lower centers. So we'll do that and we'll add some breath, and I will guide it. Okay, I will guide it a little bit so that you can notice where in your body the tension might be coming in that's putting a lockdown on that energy.
SPEAKER_03Great. Does that feel like something we could do? Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00So for this meditation, you're gonna find a really comfortable chair to sit in. And you're just gonna take a seat. And when you take that seat, just rest back. And don't try to hold any part of yourself up. If you have your legs crossed, go ahead and uncross them. If you have your arms crossed, go ahead and uncross your arms and take a nice deep breath. Feel your feet on the floor and just bring your awareness to your feet for a couple of breaths. And begin to notice with your feet on the floor any areas of tension in your belly, in your shoulders, in your chest, in your face, and on every single breath, just try to let a little bit of that tension go. We have a tendency to lean forward or toward anything that we're trying to get or experience. And so just notice if there's any part of your system, your attention, your energy, your awareness that's pushing forward, that's trying to grasp anything or understand anything. And just take a nice deep breath and let it rest back. See if you can get comfortable with not trying to figure anything out or making anything happen. So with awareness at the bottom of your feet, you're going to now bring your knees and your hips into your awareness as well.
SPEAKER_01And your glutes and your groin and your genitals.
SPEAKER_00Take a deep breath and a really long exhale, and see if you can relax all the way through your hip flexors and your glutes in your perineum. And just allow yourself to be here completely. So awareness at your own genitals in your legs and your feet. Let the big breath happen. Relax your ass and let your body take a really big breath. If it feels good or natural to make a sound, don't repress that. So without trying to make anything happen, we also don't want to repress or edit any movement that our body wants to make or any sound that our body wants to make. If you find yourself wanting to stretch or roll your ankles, that's great. That's your energy waking up. So now connect the dots between your feet, your knees, your hips, your pelvic bowl, and your belly. And soften your belly. Any movement that's coming through, any shivering or any little ways that maybe your hands want to stretch, or Yeah, exactly. If you're not feeling much of anything, that's okay. Just bringing awareness to everything that's happening below your belt is really amazing.
SPEAKER_01If you need to shift around, keep softening through your belly and breathing, breathing into that low belly.
SPEAKER_00And connect all of that energy, connect the dots now between the feet, knees, legs, genitals, belly, and upper belly, solar plexus. So just becoming aware of your upper belly that's connected to the lower abdomen, the hip flexors, the genitals, the knees, the feet. Take some deep breaths here. Unwind the belly. This could be a brand new sensation for you. You could start feeling a little trembly. This is fire at the belly. Fire energy. Feel the ignition, feel your sense of self, feel your sense of power in your rested back nature, in your rested back posture. That your sexual energy can be present, that your powerful energy can be present, and you're still just resting back. On the next breath, bring your awareness to your heart. If you lose track of your feet, bring your awareness back to your feet and your knees and your hips and your genitals and draw a line from your genitals through the low belly, belly button, through the solar plexus and into the heart. Take a nice deep breath. Ah and I'm hoping there's some sound happening at this point. If there isn't, give yourself the opportunity to experience your truth by resonating the truth that's happening in the movement of your breath and your body right now. And you can shake your hands and you can stretch. Let yourself feel really energetically big here. So if you think you're someone who doesn't feel energy, just as if you're being seen. As if someone's looking at you right now and you want to be seen.
SPEAKER_01Just let your energy get really big. Connect it through the feet and the knees and the hips and the belly. Heart.
SPEAKER_00And on the next breath, move your awareness to your throat and definitely make a sound if you haven't made a sound yet. Vibrate your vocal cords. And so you're cycling your own energy up through your feet from the earth, through the knees, hips, genitals, let it swirl around the hips. Soften the belly, soft belly so that that energy can flow into the heart. And make a sound.
SPEAKER_01Just give it a sound.
SPEAKER_00And let that sound connect into the middle of your mind. Pineal gland, brow point, sixth chakra. Let it feel good.
SPEAKER_01Let it loosen the tightness in the middle of your mind. Let it loosen and expand your visionary space.
SPEAKER_00Keep with the breath, keep with the sound. Let the energy feel really exhilarating, really good. Let it pump through the system. It's okay if it feels really strong. It's okay if it feels really soft. It feels different on different days. And then just letting it spill out the crown. So from the feet through the legs into the pelvic bowl, sipping that energy up, that lower chakra, lower belly, soft sipping. Maybe you're squeezing a little bit. This works best through surrender. But it's okay if there's like vibrating, if there's twitching, if there's compression or squeezing, make sure you come back to that deep exhale and relax. And allow that energy to naturally rise through the system, through the heart, through the chest and the neck, and the face and the head. And just gently emerge, penetrate, or spill, or burst through the top of your head. Wherever you're at, it's perfect. That energy is going to fall back to the earth where you pick it up again through your feet. So you're cycling your energy between earth and sky. And this is your raw creative energy. This is your natural energetic flow. This is young flow. Feet to crown. The energy is meant to move in an upward way. To be expressed out. Through your resonance, through your truth, through your powerful presence, through your brilliance and your ideas and your mind. And then just let it go through the top of your head. Just let it go. And we just come back to you resting in that current. So just resting in the current of your open flowing nature. Inhale deeply and sip up from the earth. And exhale through the top. And let that exhale just flow down the back side as well. So inhaling all the way up, and when you get to your head, your face, the middle of your mind, begin that exhale to move that energy through the top of the head and let it spill down the back. So this is fire flow, this is young flow, this is vitality flow for a man, a man's body, for anyone who wants to run young energy. Let it wake you up, let it get your blood moving, let it flush your face, let it open your mind to new possibilities. This could feel very sexual. There could be arousal here at the groin. I want to give full permission for that. You could start feeling tingly, you could start feeling aroused. That's great. This is your space and your practice. Notice what happens when you invite that through the soft belly, your arousal energy through the soft belly, into your power center, into the high belly, into your heart, and then into your expression center, into your voice, into the way that you vibrate your truth and your vocal cords. And the way that creative energy sparks ideas in your mind. And the way you just let that move through as natural and elegant cycle. This is how you can use your own sexual energy, the energy that you've been told to repress and edit and tamp down and flow it through your own system and give it back to the earth so that your energy is open and flowing, but it doesn't occur to anybody that you're throwing your energy on them or that you're being too sexual. Nobody knows. This is your energy. So a few more breaths, just letting this cycle. And this is gonna run for as long as you very well please for it to run. And usually when we initiate an energetic wave or cycles like this, it's gonna have some kind of peak where it feels really big. And then it's gonna rest and settle down. When it rests and settle down, settles down, you're just gonna hang in the valley. Just feel like the essence and the nature of the energy that surrounds your body right now. Feel the equilibrium between the inside and the outside, between the lower half and the upper half of your body. And if you have to keep reminding yourself to soften your belly or breathe, just do that.
SPEAKER_01Wherever you're at is perfect. And you're just gonna ride this wave until it feels complete.
SPEAKER_02Wow, thank you. I definitely feel uh yeah, I feel connected through my whole body. I feel my whole energy just connected. There's a whole yeah. I think at first I noticed myself when I went, I was starting to go up their chakras, I would lose connection with my feet.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Uh so it's definitely a practice to be able to have I I think it it took me the whole process to get to a place right now where I'm like, wow, I'm buzzing.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02That's great. I love it. Awesome.
SPEAKER_00I hope that translated well for your people.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And um, we can do more fun and stuff like that when we're together.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00How do you feel right now?
SPEAKER_02Uh I feel calm yet expansive. Like there's this yeah, big opening. I feel like I'm connected to yeah, I'm feeling very connected.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Good.
SPEAKER_02It's nice.
SPEAKER_03Good.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Great. Definitely feel my third eye. Um, it's pretty, pretty wide open.
SPEAKER_00Awesome. How can I ask? How do you feel below your belt?
SPEAKER_02Below my belt. I mean, I feel there's uh there's I mean, there's tingling.
SPEAKER_00Okay, great.
SPEAKER_02Um but it's soft, it's mild. It's a mild, yeah. But there's definitely tingling everywhere.
SPEAKER_00Great. Yeah, that's a great sign. Yeah. That's a great first sign that energy is starting to wake up in the body that it just feels a little buzzy or a little tingly or a little electric. Um, I just want to give that note to people who are like, I don't feel a damn thing. Energy occurs to us differently. And I really do believe that it is part of our evolutionary journey that we become more energetically aware, that we become aware of this part of our body, it's actually part of our body and part of our system. If you're having a hard time feeling something energetically, it could be that you're having a hard time feeling something emotionally. So if the first thing that wants to happen in this exercise is tears, let that happen. If the first thing that wants to happen in this exercise is like um some kind of anger, you can let that happen. Repressed emotions are uh correlate with repressed energy. Emotion is energy and motion. Yes, it's energy and motion. So I find that particularly in male-body people, men who have been cultured as male and men, people who are men, um have more difficulty feeling energy than women do, usually.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And and I know that there's there this is directly correlated to the amount of emotional repression that you guys have had to do in your life.
SPEAKER_02So the more we allow ourselves to just go into the releasing of the emotion during this practice, like even if it's just like a shake, a wiggle, a hand on the mouth, and do a little scream, like tuning into the body as well.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. Yeah, as you go into this practice, right, it may not look as as simple as what we just did. There may be like um, wow, there's a part of my genitals that I I can't be with because of what happened to me or my ass or something like that. You know, so like things can come up when we bring our awareness to our body. I have a really good friend, she's hilarious. She's like, damn it, now that I'm in my body, I just feel everything. It's like now I just have to feel every little creak and every little every little thing that's going on. But like it could be a big deal to feel something for the first time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And in the to come to the body.
SPEAKER_02To come to the body. And so as we come to the body, the beautiful thing is just remember that you not only get to feel more pleasure, you're gonna feel more of the pain.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So it's because you know, you expand one thing, it's gotta expand on both sides. Dualism, you know, dualism, right? Um, we live in a dualist world, so contrast, so you're gonna feel it, but how beautiful is it that you get we get to feel, I get to feel more of myself.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's beautiful. Yeah, yeah. I I know that if you are repressing your voice during sex, your orgasm isn't as good as it could be. Right, right. You know, it's it's directly correlated. Yeah, our willingness to express, our willingness to emote, our willingness to vocalize, the body will move the energy. Yeah, and it takes breath, sound and movement. Yeah, it takes breath and sound, those are huge allies. And if you're super empathic and you're like, I just feel everything, sound is is one of your best allies making sound because that will just harmonize the whole field.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I love this so much. I can keep going. I know. I know it feels so good. Okay, um, yeah. So tell us uh, what are you currently offering? What are your offerings?
SPEAKER_00Okay, so um currently, yeah, I'm home a lot this year, okay, which is phenomenal.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, I get super busy in the fall, and I wanted to make just a special offer to your community.
SPEAKER_03Awesome.
SPEAKER_00And uh I guess whoever listens to this until the end of time, we can talk about it. Um I don't know if I need to put a time cap on this. I don't know. But for your community, I'd I give me three sessions.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00Give me three sessions. I'm gonna give you a 20% discount to come and do three sessions with me. And um, we can get you well situated in your body and your energy moving in an in amazing ways. We'll get all your all your dimensions moving in one direction.
SPEAKER_02Wow, thank you. What a what a great offer. Yeah, I have one more offer too. Go for it.
SPEAKER_00Because um the busyness this fall is I'm teaching three Awaken is Love Retreats.
SPEAKER_03Oh, congratulations.
SPEAKER_00Awaken is Love is a um we call it Life 2.0. It is a retreat space where we marry the Eastern Awakening teachings, all our meditation and all of the um embodiment work that we've been doing, we marry that to a Western psychological developmental theory, which is where all the uh evolutionary teachings are coming from that I share called integral theory. We marry those together and it supercharges growth and evolution and also gives you like an experience of awakening to the love as you are. Those things go together. And San Diego is in October, okay, but I'm also doing Earth Dance in Western Mass, which is gonna be off the chain as well. Um, and then Las Vegas, end of November. And I want to give anyone who's heard your podcast or is listening to this 10% off.
SPEAKER_02Beautiful. Thank you so much. Thanks for offering that. Yes. So I highly recommend both her sessions and Awaken is Love. I've taken it several years ago. They're a great program, so highly recommend it.
SPEAKER_00Thank you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and thank you for the offer.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, of course. Amazing. My pleasure.
SPEAKER_02Uh we'll put all the social and all the website stuff on the description. Yeah. And uh you're gonna see her in the inter community. She's gonna offer something a little longer with some QA. Uh and then final remarks.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh, I am so grateful to have places like this to talk about what I think is just so important, which I think is our inner edge and our outer edge, and our next edge, and the leading edge, and the avant-garde of human growth and potential and evolution. And um we really are reaching towards a new consciousness all the time. We are growing, and there are things that we can do, and awarenesses that we can have, and simple practices that we can bring in that create alignment really quickly so that we can be out there creating a world that we really want to live in and not feeling like we're underneath the the conditioning of it or some of it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Absolutely. Wow.
SPEAKER_00Thank you, Kathleen. Thank you so much. Appreciate you so much. Thank you so much.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. Thanks for joining us, and uh yeah, that's it. See you next time.
SPEAKER_03That was so fun.
SPEAKER_02That was so fun, wasn't it?
